Faith as a Moral Lens, not a Political Tool

My activism—whether confronting predatory lending, challenging environmental

racism, confronting an unjust criminal justice system, or fighting for educational

justice- has always been rooted in a moral conviction that systems should serve

people, not prey on them. That conviction comes from faith, but its expression is

public, inclusive, and grounded in universal principles of justice and human dignity.

I reject the use of religion to:

  • Control personal choices

  • Exclude or marginalize communities

  • Undermine democracy

  • Justify inequality or harm

Instead, faith should push us to ask more complex questions of power, profit, and

policy.
